Species/Populations East Canadian High Arctic Light-bellied Brent Goose History Co-ordinated counts of this population began in 1996/97. Aims Assess population size and annual productivity, and identify important sites. Coverage International (Northern Ireland, Ireland, Iceland). Frequency Annual (two counts each winter; one in the autumn and another in the spring). Methods A co-ordinated site-based census. Counters record the number of birds present, and the age structure of flocks, at known wintering locations. Results The latest results of this census can be found on the ECHA Light-bellied Brent Goose species account pages.
